Presenting Artists Lawrence Sawyer, Gary "Ju Ju Drum" Garlic

Students will learn traditional drum rhythms such as polyrhythmic and repetition as well as how to listen to and improvise with music. This workshop helps students develop skills in teamwork, playing music, improvising within a structure, building community, and expressing oneself. By the end of the workshop, students will be able to create (and play!) an arrangement using the drumming techniques acquired.
