Establish or deepen your mindfulness and meditation practice on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM at Tabb Library with Melissa McGill, Ed.D., certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher, E-RYT200 in a supportive small group setting.  Instruction and guidance on foundational mindfulness and meditation practices is incorporated. Join Deputy Kevin Taylor, Crime Prevention Specialist and Law Enforcement Practitioner for York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office for an informative class on home security.  Deputy Taylor will provide education for homeowners on how to secure your home to lessen your chances of victimization.  In this class, homeowners will receive information on target hardening by considering things such as windows, doors, locks, landscaping, lighting, etc.  Questions are encouraged both during and after the presentation.  This class is geared towards adults and seniors.

Are you ready for a fun time? Come out to Hallmark Movie Bingo at Yorktown Library. Enjoy friendly competition and snacks as you attempt to get BINGO on your card by spotting classic Hallmark movie clichés in our featured selection.

Have you ever tried to grow your own plants from seed, but had limited success? Come learn some easy techniques and secrets to growing your own flowers, vegetables and favorite plants from seed at home. Increase the variety in your garden and find solutions that work in your area. Participants will go home with their own planted seeds donated by the York/Poquoson Master Gardeners.

Blow off some steam and get creative at our "Bad" Art Night. If you work better with constraints, an art prompt will be provided. No pressure to finish--take this time to relax and unwind. Talent and skill will not be judged--but works may show up on library social media.

Join us on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 1:30pm - 3:00 pm for Memory Café at the Tabb Library!

This social gathering is for anyone personally affected by memory loss and their care partners. Each café will offer its guests the chance for unstructured conversation, refreshments and getting to know others with similar memory changes. Care Partners and/or spouses must attend as well. The café is organized and hosted by trained facilitators.
