Join us at Tabb Library for evening yoga and breathing exercises with a certified yoga instructor. Classes are held the 1st & 3rd Thursdays of each month. For ages 18+ and all skill levels.

Have you ever tried to grow your own plants from seed, but had limited success? Come learn some easy techniques and secrets to growing your own flowers, vegetables and favorite plants from seed at home. Increase the variety in your garden and find solutions that work in your area. Participants will go home with their own planted seeds donated by the York/Poquoson Master Gardeners.

Drop in to participate in our Seed Swap program. Please bring at least one variety seeds to share. Purchased and harvested seeds are both welcome as long as the seeds are not more than 3-4 years old. If you bring bulk seeds, you will need to provide your own small empty bags or packets. Labels will be available as needed. Leave some seeds, take some new ones! But please only take what you need. Establish or deepen your mindfulness and meditation practice on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM at Tabb Library with Melissa McGill, Ed.D., certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher, E-RYT200 in a supportive small group setting.  Instruction and guidance on foundational mindfulness and meditation practices is incorporated. The Tabb Book Readers (TBR) is an adult book discussion group that meets from 1:15-2:30 p.m. on the third Saturday of each month at the Tabb Library. Please register by the Friday before the meeting. Blow off some steam and get creative at our "Bad" Art Night. Make a painting, draw a picture, or scribble uncontrollably (on paper). If you work better with constraints, an art prompt will be provided. No pressure to finish--take this time to relax and unwind. Talent and skill will not be judged--but all works will show up on library social media.

Beekeeping is a wonderful way to bring the magic of nature into your own yard and to help provide habitat to key pollinators.  But what is really involved with becoming a beekeeper?  How much does it cost, what do you need to know, and what are the first steps that you should take to get started?  Come and join us to learn more about it from the York/Poquoson Master Gardeners, and to see if beekeeping might be right for you.

Spend a relaxing afternoon working on your individual fiber arts projects while enjoying the company of others at Yorktown Library.  This drop-in program occurs on the 4th Saturday (excluding holidays) each month from 2-4 PM at Yorktown Library. It is for adults of all skill levels interested in crocheting, knitting, needlepoint, and other related crafts. Teens are also welcome if accompanied by an adult. A limited amount of supplies (yarn, needles, hooks, etc.) will be available while supplies last.

Join us the 4th Sunday of each month (excluding holidays) for three hours of board games/tabletop gaming at Tabb Library. YCPL owns a varied collection of board and card games such as Catan, The Resistance, Rummikub, Ticket to Ride: London, and more. Attendees are welcome to bring games to share or play amongst themselves. D&D groups are also welcome to use the space.

This program is for adults (18+) of all levels of gaming experience. Teens are also welcome to join with an accompanying adult.
